Reaching 100,000 pairs of running shoes diverted from landfill is a milestone worth pausing for. It represents a tangible environmental impact and is proof that circular solutions in sport are possible when purpose, partnerships, and persistence align

At JogOnAgain.com, the mission has always been clear: extend the life of running shoes, reduce unnecessary waste, and challenge the idea that performance footwear is disposable. Removing 100,000 pairs from landfill is a meaningful step forward in an industry that has traditionally struggled with sustainability at scale.
That said, this milestone is not an endpoint. It is a starting line. The volume of running shoes discarded each year in the UK alone is still substantial, and the gap between what could be reused and what currently is remains wide. Achieving real systemic change will require continued innovation, wider participation, and a shift in consumer behaviour toward reuse and responsibility.
This progress would not have been possible without the incredible support of partners across the UK. Retailers, brands, events, clubs, and community organisations have all played a vital role by collecting, promoting, and believing in a better model. Their willingness to collaborate has turned an idea into measurable impact.
Most importantly, runners themselves have driven this change. Every pair sent to us instead of thrown away represents a conscious choice to do better without compromising the love of running.
There is still a long way to go, but reaching 100,000 pairs proves momentum is building. With continued support and shared commitment, the future of running can be both high-performance and lower-impact. We’ve made a start, and we’re just getting going.
